Securing funding, appointing staff and preparing delivery of projects as part of  Heritage Horizons: Cairngorms 2030

Preparations

The team gets consultants on board who  help with technical aspects and consultation. Together they plan the delivery of the different projects. 

Project planning

People living, learning and working in the National Park are asked their views on the  Heritage Horizons: Cairngorms 2030 programme and its suite of 24 projects through a range of consultation activity and community engagement events. 

Engagement

Based on the engagement results and in collaboration with stakeholders, proposals are worked up in more detail for each project. 

Proposals

Shortlisted proposals are looked at in more detail and concept designs are created. Constraints and issues are carefully looked at and stakeholders are asked to give further feedback on the designs.

Design development

Completed development plans with design proposals are presented to the National Lottery Heritage Fund and project partners, to request further funding that will be used to deliver the plans.

As part of Heritage Horizons: Cairngorms 2030, an ambitious programme is underway to put active and sustainable travel at the heart of a greener future for the National Park. We want to hear from you to help us shape these projects.
